FingerSCAN DecedentID Has a New Look!

We published our very first version of FingerSCAN DecedentID back in 2016 and have made many tweaks overtime. This latest tweak offers a major upgrade that we think our users will love.

For those who have never heard of or used FingerSCAN DecedentID, here is a little description to help you understand what this is. FingerSCAN DecedentID is an Android application that runs on Android smartphones and tablets. It is integrated with the Integrated Biometrics Watson Mini fingerprint scanner. The application captures demographic details and fingerprint images (rolled and slapped) from decedents and then it automatically generates a Decedent fingerprint card. Fingerprint records can be shared via email, SFTP and USB connection. Ready-to-Go jumpkits are available to those customers that want a solution that works right out of the box. Otherwise you can download the application to your own Android device and purchase the FingerSCAN DecedentID Scanner Bundle through WoVoIS.

For those who already own FingerSCAN DecedentID and scanner, you can download the latest update from Google Play and will be grandfathered under your previous purchase arrangement. Be advised: This update is not guaranteed to perform well on old devices. If you are thinking of getting new Android devices, we recommend Samsung for best performance.

Here is a list of what's new in Version 2.0:
The application now runs on the latest and previous versions of the Android OS. So those who have been waiting to update their Android devices can now do so.
We redesigned the user interface so that is sizes well from smaller smartphone screens to larger tablet screens.
Changed the hand graphic so there is no confusion over which fingers are to be scanned.
We introduced a login screen for security and licensing purposes.
We introduced auto-progression, which means that you have fewer selections to make during the fingerprinting process. The application logic will automatically take you to the next finger in the fingerprinting process. This also helps guard against scanning the wrong finger in the sequence.
The app now saves the images in .png format. If .png format is not your preferred format, don't upgrade just yet. The next update will give you the option to choose your format of choice.

That's all for now. Stay tuned for the next update. We are adding encryption. Also, if you are interested in getting a Windows version of FingerSCAN DecedentID, please send us an email.
